STEP Education (STEP-koulutus or STEP-utbilding) is a vocational college, folk high school and a study centre all operated by the same entity. STEP Education’s vocational college provides vocational education and training (VET) for 3500 students on annual basis. You can study with us in Finnish and Swedish languages.
And due to our large folk high school and study centre service, STEP Education is the largest provider of liberal adult education in the Nordic countries, with thousands of students taking part in various trainings and short courses annually. STEP campus areas are located in Järvenpää, Kaustinen, Lapua, Pieksämäki, Ruokolahti and Nykarleby. In addition to campuses, our VET educational services are also offered in the following 18 additional locations: Helsinki, Tampere, Espoo, Seinäjoki, Jyväskylä, Lappeenranta, Kuopio, Joensuu, Savonlinna, Kouvola, Porvoo, Pori, Kauniainen, Kauhajoki, Kirkkonummi, Riihimäki, Janakkala and Hollola.
Our age-demographic is currently such that adults (18 and above) form 92 percent of our student body. In 2021 STEP Education’s turnover was over 24 million euros and the number of employees was 220. STEP Education is owned by Church Resource Agency, Kirkkopalvelut ry, but very large portion of our educational service is secular serving cities, towns and municipalities and the third sector.
